Aston Martin Debuts DB11 Volante Convertible

Well take the one with the drop-top, please.
unveiled the new DB11 Volante on Friday. Its the convertible version of the new well-received DB11 coupe unveiled earlier this year and its a beauty.
The luxury coupe comes with a new 4.0-liter twin-turbo Mercedes-AMG V8 under the hood good for 503-horses. Its built on the same aluminum platform as the DB11. So its lighter and sportier than what came before. It comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and it goes without saying paddle shifters are part of the package.
Now about that gorgeous drop-top, which is, of course, its defining feature.
Aston Martin designed it using eight layers of insulation and acoustic materials. It takes 14 seconds to lower and 16 seconds to close. Drivers can operate it remotely with their key fob. It also operates at speeds up to 31 mph with a 31 mph headwind. Engineers also put it through 100 cycles in special weather chambers to make sure it can withstand the elements.
Aston Martin is also trying to make it parent-friendly by making it the first Volante to offer rear seat ISOFIX anchor points for car seats.
The redesigned DB11 coupe, which replaced the DB9, new life into Aston Martins lagging sales this year and the convertible version is designed to ride on the heels of the coupes success.
The new DB11 Volante will sticker starting from $216,495. Order books are open now and U.S. deliveries are expected to begin in early to mid-2018.
