Credit: GMC
When the 5- to 7-passenger 2020 GMC Acadia rolls out later this fall, it will do so with a new sporty trim, a new available turbo engine and interior upgrades including an updated infotainment system. But the best news? All engine offerings feature a stop/start deactivation switch. Can we hear some applause please?

Whats New and Notable

AT4 Trim

The 2020 GMC Acadia lineup includes the first-ever AT4 trim. Its designed to be the sportiest trim of them all offering a rugged, off-road inspired design. It includes a black chrome-accented grille, standard 17-inch wheels and all-terrain tires, with 20-inch wheels available. The AT4 comes standard with a 3.6L V-6 engine producing 310- horses and 271 lb-ft of torque and a twin clutch AWD system.

2.0L Turbo Engine

A new 2.0L turbocharged engine is standard on the SLT and Denali models. Its tri-power valve train complements the turbocharging system to make the most of the engines available power at all speeds. The turbo is a dual-scroll design developed to enhance low-speed torque delivery. Peak torque is available from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm, for an exceptional feeling of responsiveness. Both the 2.5L I-4 and the 3.6L V-6 engines remain standard or optional equipment for the 2020 Acadia dependent on trim level selected.

9-Speed Transmission

A new nine-speed automatic replaces the previous six-speed automatic as the standard transmission for the 2.0L, 2.5L and 3.6L engines. The nine-speeds additional clutches and gears offer better-optimized acceleration and efficiency, GMC says it reduces engine noise.

Stop/Start Deactivation Switch

In case you missed it the first time, GREAT NEWS. All engine offerings feature a stop/start deactivation switch.
