Why make a smaller version of the F-Pace? So you can do barrel rolls of course and set Guinness World Records with the all-new E-Pace.
Jaguar just revealed the 2018 E-Pace SUV, a smaller version of the F-Pace, which is a sales hit for the brand.
2018 Jaguar E-Pace Pricing
Besides setting world records, the E-Pace will also join the ranks of luxury automakers coming out with smaller, lower price point, SUVs. Jaguar envisions it the perfect ride for the posh young couple. No, not the broke writer hipsters, but those with stable jobs, as the E-Pace starts at $39,595. So only about $3,000 below the F-Pace. The rest of the trims start above $40,000 with the top E-Pace R-Dynamic HSE starting at $54,095.
The E-Pace starts at the front with ginormous air intakes and headlights rimmed in kohl, giving it a black eyeliner effect. The headlights are one of the distinguishing features between it and the F-Pace. The E-Pace headlights are much bigger and both higher and more drawn back.
The rest is shamelessly a mini-me F-Pace. Same lines just all slightly, smaller Ė most noticeably between the B and C pillars. The little rear triangle window is significantly smaller, but overall it makes for more intense dynamic lines.
Actual shrinking looks like two inches less legroom in the back compared to its larger sibling.
Both models are built on the same chassis, and the E-Pace also features Integral Link rear suspension. It also only offers AWD, luxe leather upholstery, and the huge sunroof.
Two Engine Choices
Two variants of the Jaguar Land Rover Ingenium engines are available. The base engine is a gas P250 with 246-horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The other option, P300, pushes horsepower up to 296 with 295lb-ft of torque. Base engine goes to 60 mph in 6.6-seconds and the P300 does it in 5.9 seconds. Thatís how you know youíre really getting a luxury performance car and not just a good looker.
Tech is all the bells and whistles you expect in a Jaguar. A 10-inch touchscreen comes standard for the infotainment system, the cockpit uses a 12.3-inch screen that you can customize to taste, and thereís a color headís up display.
First Edition Model
A special number of First Edition models will sell during the first year only, starting from $54,545. It comes with everything and offers special Windsor leather in Ebony with red stitching. You choose from three colors with one being a first-edition only choice of Caldera Red. The other two colors are, of course, black and white.
If F-Pace sales are any indication, Jaguarís decision to launch the E-Pace is smart economic move. Jaguarís sold more than 80,000 F-Pace SUVs since its arrival in 2016. They make up nearly half of Jaguar models sold in the last financial year.
