GM Ousts Cadillac Boss Johan De Nysschen

A big shake-up at Cadillac. The President of division, Johan de Nysschen, has been fired. You may recall that over a year ago, I predicted this. When he made the decision to move the headquarters to Manhattan, I knew his days were numbered.

“We appreciate Johan’s efforts over the last four years in setting a stronger foundation for Cadillac,” said General Motors President Dan Ammann. “Looking forward, the world is changing rapidly, and, beginning with the launch of the new XT4, it is paramount that we capitalize immediately on the opportunities that arise from this rate of change. This move will further accelerate our efforts in that regard.”

De Nysschen, who joined the automaker in 2014, is leaving the company effective immediately. He cited “philosophical differences” as the reason for his departure and told ,“it’s not personal, it’s just business.”

GM named Steve Carlisle, head of GM Canada, as his replacement.
