I said it on the air, and I will say it here; the Hyundai Equus is as nice a car as my Audi A8 and drives just as well. Seriously, this large, luxury sedan is an outstanding car and a real joy to drive.
2014 Hyundai Equus
The 2014 Hyundai Equus comes with a 5.0-liter V8 that is putting out 429-horses and is hooked to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This rear-wheel drive luxury car has a ton of power, both low end and at highway speeds. Acceleration is strong and determined, yet very quiet when it is tromped on.
It is hard not to compare this car to Lexus LS, BMW 750, and Mercedes S550. I can tell you it stacks up nicely to them all. It has more interior room than all three of those competitors and yet has a much lower price.
The Ultimate package is completely loaded with power-everything. It has a heads-up display that projects info onto the windshield so you can keep your eyes on the road. It has rear DVD player with screens in the front seat headrests. The doors latch themselves, it has a heated steering wheel and heated and cooled rear seat.
Of course you get the famous Hyundai 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, and three years of free maintenance. When it is time for that oil change, schedule it by pushing the “at your service” button on the rearview mirror, and your dealer will deliver you a loaner, pick your car up, do the service, and delivery the car back to you clean.
